LENSORA / LABORATORY OPTICS

A clearer view.
A better question.

Optical instrument concepts for the work of observing, comparing and recording. A clearer equipment conversation begins with the specimen and the question.

START WITH THE APPLICATION

What are you
looking to see?

01

Teaching & learning

A shared view, clear controls and a repeatable introduction to observation.

02

Material inspection

Consider specimen preparation, lighting and the detail you need to document.

03

Research workflows

Connect optics, capture and the way your laboratory manages observations.

INSTRUMENT FAMILIES

A focused
instrument brief.

Three directions for laboratory and educational observation. Explore the purpose of each before discussing an actual instrument configuration.

THE OPTICAL PATH

A change
in perspective.

The objective turret is a visible point of choice. Magnification is one property among several; resolution, contrast and the viewing method must be considered with the actual instrument.

Explore / Laboratory optics

Two lenses.
One calculation.

Multiply eyepiece and objective magnification for a simple conventional optical combination. This does not calculate resolution or digital image scale.

—× / nominal combined magnification

The question at the bench.

The question at the bench.

A researcher, a sample and a method of looking. The instrument should be discussed in that working context.

Prepare the observation.

Prepare the observation.

Slides, tools and a considered bench layout are part of the process. Record the preparation method alongside the viewing requirements.

INSTRUMENT CARE

Optics meet
mechanics.

An optical instrument brings lenses, illumination, positioning and controls into a physical system. Assembly and review connect these parts to the intended observation workflow.

01

Define the observation

Describe specimens, preparation and the questions being explored.

02

Map the workflow

Record viewing, positioning and documentation needs.

03

Review the configuration

Compare actual optical and mechanical specifications with a qualified instrument specialist.

APPLICATION NOTES

The observation notebook.

SPECIMEN

Name what you need to see.

Start with the sample and the feature of interest. The equipment conversation becomes more focused from there.

WORKFLOW

Record the method.

Preparation, illumination and recording belong beside the observation in a useful notebook.

OPTICS

More is not the whole answer.

A magnification figure alone does not describe what an instrument can resolve or how an image will appear.

Before we begin.

Is this a diagnostic instrument catalogue?

No. LENSORA is a design concept for laboratory optics, with no clinical intended use or diagnostic claims.

What does the calculation show?

The product of the entered eyepiece and objective factors only. Other optical arrangements may require additional factors.

Can I save an instrument brief?

Yes. Product directions and calculations can be added to a local text note and downloaded.
